Arsenal released a public statement tonight after Gunners star Willian revealed that he was the latest victim of social media discrimination.
The number of cases of LP is on the rise
The topic of racial violence has certainly taken center stage in the Premier League in recent weeks.
This is because a number of the division's most famous stars have been targeted by so-called "fans" through overtly disgusting online messages.
Following the defeat to Manchester United by Sheffield United late last month, a pair of Red Devils, Anthony Martial and Axel Tuanzbe, were found guilty of abuse.
In turn, United themselves issued a statement in which they fully supported the two stars of the club, while successfully calling the perpetrators "anonymous mindless idiots."
We are #UnitedAgainstRacism.
Then, now and always.

However, such efforts by those in power at Old Trafford have unfortunately failed, as just last weekend Martial was again targeted by Reds after the club stalled with West Bromwich. "
Others who have had to deal with this kind of ignorance throughout the season include Wilfrid Zaha and Troy Dini.
“Work together to get rid of this behavior”
Since then, such troubling patterns have been the subject of debate, not only about social media abuse, but also the ease with which such comments can be made in complete anonymity, and have once again become a major topic of discussion.
And, as stated above, such talk looks set to continue in the coming days, after the last Premier League player revealed details of the heinous racial violence he suffered this week this evening.
It's about Willian from Arsenal.
Citing his official Instagram account, the Brazilian showed off a screenshot of some of the messages he received last night on the back of an episode of the Gunners League meeting with Benfica:
Another terrifying example of racial violence that players are exposed to. Willian is the last to show what he is exposed to. There is simply no excuse. pic.twitter.com/IEeHLhCS2P

Themselves "Arsenal", in turn, since then quickly jumped to the defense of their non-professional.
In a lengthy statement released not long ago, North Londoners were the latest club to criticize “the depressing & #039; & #039; the behavior of those responsible for discrimination on social media before confirming their intention to ban anyone implicated in this person who also possesses an arsenal of membership - permanently from the Emirates:
"This is another depressing example of what unfortunately happens to our players and many others on a regular basis."
"Social media is one way our fans around the world can feel closer to the club and our players, but in football and beyond, we've seen an online world poisoned with hateful, racist and discriminatory words."
“As our CEO Vinay Venkatesham said just yesterday, we cannot underestimate the impact of abuse on people, and the recent wave of abuse should be a wake-up call. We all need to work together to get rid of this behavior. "
“This includes clubs, governing bodies, fans, media and politicians; but it requires help and commitment from social media companies. "
“Through Arsenal for All, we strive to ensure that everyone associated with the club feels the same belonging.”
"We will continue to celebrate our diversity and use our platforms to educate others and continue our zero-tolerance approach to discrimination."
“We are committed to using our voice and network to strengthen the measures and actions taken by the relevant authorities to punish those responsible for this abuse, which affects all of us.”
“If it is found that someone has a membership in Arsenal, he will be banned. We cannot and will not allow racist and hateful insults to become the norm in the game. ”
Arsenal have responded to Willian's racial slurs on social media.
